Metalstucco is a plaster based on real metal powders. After finishing and polishing, it creates a finish that resembles a solid sheet. Metalstucco is suitable for walls and objects, including furniture.
This metal stucco is available in seven basic varieties: brass, copper, bronze, zinc, aluminum, tin, and iron. With a special oxide, these unique finishing touches can also be achieved: rust, copper oxide, and bronze oxide. The materials can also be combined for even more metallic shades and effects!
Metal stucco transforms surfaces in decorative interior projects into a truly luxurious atmosphere. Think of iconic walls, fireplaces, and furniture. The unique Metal stucco is then finished with a protective impregnation or wax.
Impregnation and Coating
This metal powder stucco also enhances more frequently used surfaces, such as the backsplash of a kitchen, toilet, or the non-wet areas of the bathroom. In such cases, it is given a final layer of impregnation and coating.
Proper Preparation, Perfect Result
A proper substrate and proper preparation: these are essential for achieving the perfect result. For this, contact an experienced metal stucco plasterer. A specialist who applies metal stucco in accordance with all requirements and standards.
Interior designers often see several reasons for choosing Metal stucco:
With our Metalstucco, we don’t talk about colors, but about metal variants. There’s a logical reason for this: we don’t use color pigments in this stucco; the actual metals in the product determine the shade or color.
In 7 Metal Variants
Our Metalstucco is available in 7 metal variants: tin, aluminum, zinc, iron, copper, bronze, and brass.
Oxidation of Iron, Bronze, and Copper
The iron variant can be treated with an oxide to create aesthetic rust formation. Oxidizing the bronze or copper variant results in a greenish-blue hue.
Natural Process
Oxidation is a natural process. This means that the effect can vary slightly each time. This depends partly on the application method of the oxide, as well as the humidity. Furthermore, you can always mix variants to create a new, authentic version of Metalstucco.

Metal stucco has strong, waterproof properties and varies in appearance. That’s why you see it used in so many different applications and projects.
There are guidelines for the correct application of Metalstucco. We’ve compiled these clearly in our Technical Sheets. Experience with applying Metalstucco is recommended. A list of specialized plasterers can be found on this website: see the main menu.
leveling the base walls (see instructions) + applying primer
2 layers of metal stucco, each approx. 0.5 mm (total thickness approx. 1 mm)
sanding/polishing the Metalstucco in different grain sizes of 80 – 120 – 320 – 600 – 1000 – 3000 – 6000. Depending on the desired result
if necessary, apply oxidizing agent (on iron, bronze or copper)
apply protective layer (wax or impregnation/coating)
Metal Stucco is a plaster product based on metal powders that, after plastering and polishing, returns to a smooth metal sheet.
We don’t really speak of “colors” but rather of (metal) variants because Metalstuc doesn’t contain any color pigments. It’s made from actual metal powders. The available metal variations are: brass, copper, zinc, bronze, iron, aluminium and tin.
Metal stucco is supplied in powder form (micro metal powders + additives) that is mixed with water or a 50% water/50% resin mixture to create a stucco paste. This is applied in two coats and, after drying, sanded and polished to create a smooth metal surface
Metal stucco is not recommended for outdoor use because the product is not 100% waterproof and can therefore be affected by moisture and temperature fluctuations.
Certainly, the tiling must first be assessed; is it sufficiently crack-free/solid? If so, the tile substrate is prepared with a primer and a special leveling layer. Then the Metalstuc can be applied.
It’s rare, but if a crack or dent develops in the Metalstucco layer, it can always be locally filled or touched up due to its excellent adhesive properties. If necessary, the topcoat applied afterwards can be locally colored to eliminate any color differences.
This is possible. However, the surface must be constructed of a heat-resistant substrate/underlayment
No stucco product is scratch-free, and scratch resistance varies depending on the metal. Iron and brass are quite hard, while tin and aluminum, for example, are relatively soft metals. A protective layer in the form of a coating does help to make the surface somewhat more impact-resistant.
There’s no set guideline, but we recommend reapplying the wax every three months. A finish consisting of impregnation and coating only needs to be reapplied every three to four years. This depends heavily on the type of use of the surface and the intensity of cleaning, etc.
Due to its non-waterproof properties, metal stucco is only suitable for indoor use as a decorative finish. It can also be used on a toilet wall, kitchen backsplash, or behind a sink, provided it has been treated with an impregnator and coating.
Metalstucco is a unique, exclusive product due to its composition: it contains real metal particles in powder form, such as brass, bronze, and copper. Metalstucco is not an imitation but a genuine metal layer
Metal stucco is not hard enough to withstand years of stress.
Yes. Metalstucco contains real metal particles such as brass, bronze, copper, iron, tin, zinc, and aluminum.
Depending on the total quantity to be purchased, the cost of these materials starts at around €140, including VAT, per square meter
Provided that maintenance is carried out occasionally by applying a new layer of wax or coating (depending on the type of surface and use), metal stucco will last a lifetime.
No. Metal stucco is not suitable for wet areas such as the shower area or the wall behind the bathtub. It is suitable for walls subject to limited water exposure or the back wall of the kitchen, provided it is finished with a coating.

Metal stucco can vary in texture, pattern, and gloss level. This is primarily due to the application method, which varies in texture. After drying, the texture can be sanded away to a greater or lesser extent and/or sanded/polished. This gradually increases the sheen of the metal surface.
By carrying out many projects ourselves and through good contact with our manufacturer in France (Mercadier).
You often see imitation metal finishes in a very thin, paint-like layer. Our Metalstucco, however, contains real metal particles. After adding water, a plaster mass is created that ultimately forms a genuine metal layer, 1 to 1.5 mm thick/thin.
