Quartstone is a fully waterproof, two-component, colored finish. It’s a very strong lava stone plaster; epoxy-based and with quartz grains. This results in an exceptionally hard, dense, and non-porous finish for both interiors and exteriors.
For a lifetime
Our Quartstone for floors, walls, and countertops can withstand enormous loads, even with heavy use. With proper maintenance, it will last a lifetime.
For every design, in every colour
Just like béton ciré (waxed concrete), our lavastone has a velvety, stone-like texture. In addition to our standard 30 colors, this ultra-luxurious plaster is available in your favorite color. Choose based on RAL, NCS, or other coding. Quartstone complements many designs: from very sleek to a more classic or rustic ambiance.
Quartstone is strong and waterproof. This makes it particularly suitable for surfaces subject to heavy use, such as floors and countertops in living rooms and kitchens. This material is also a popular, stylish, impact-resistant, and waterproof plaster for walls in wet areas such as bathrooms and toilets.
Professional Project Execution
Everything starts with the installation, with careful attention to priming the substrate and other preparations. Therefore, we always recommend engaging an experienced Quartstone plasterer for your Quartzstone project. They will, together with our top-quality materials, help you achieve the most beautiful result down to the last detail.
Choosing a Quartstone finish is a good idea:
Our Quartstone is available in 30 standard colours. We can also supply custom colours for you, using a code such as RAL, NSC, or F&B.
Custom-made
These colours are always an approximation. The result may vary depending on the ambient temperature, humidity, and the application, plastering, and polishing method.
Custom-made colors are free for quantities of 50 square meters or more.
Match with Béton ciré and lime plaster
Our quartstone colors also match beautifully with our Béton ciré Pro and lime plaster colors. Convenient for those who want to combine multiple types of plaster products in the same shade in one room!

Due to its strong and waterproof properties, Quartstone is very suitable for all kinds of applications and projects; from floors to kitchen countertops.
Guidelines exist for the correct application of Quartstone. These can be found in our Technical Data Sheets. Experience with plastering is always recommended.

Quartstone is a finishing product for floors, walls, and countertops. It is colored throughout and plastered in two very thin layers
Quartstone is a two-component system (base + hardener) based on epoxy. This composition creates a very dense, non-porous finish. After sanding, this is finished with a two-component protective coating.
Yes. This epoxy-based plaster with a quartz grain finish is not only very hard, but also waterproof and non-porous. This makes it suitable for bathrooms and outdoor use.
Yes. Because Quartstone is a very thin finishing layer, the tiles must first be completely leveled. This can be done, for example, with the special Quartstone Techcoat. The tiling must always be assessed first to determine whether it can serve as a base for a Quartstone finish.
It’s very rare, but if a crack or dent has developed in the Quartstone, the specialist can fill and touch it up locally thanks to its excellent adhesive properties. If necessary, they can also recolor the subsequent topcoat to eliminate any color differences.
We do not recommend electric underfloor heating, but only water-based underfloor heating with pipes embedded in the sand-cement layer. Before applying the Quartstone, a “firing protocol” is always followed (consult your contractor/specialist about this), and a low-tension undercoat (such as Quartstone Techcoat) is applied to the sand-cement layer.
Yes. No finishing product is scratch-free, but Quartzstone can withstand a significant amount of wear and tear. It’s no wonder this product is often seen in heavily used areas/floors.
For floors, we always recommend placing felt pads under chair legs and similar items. And, for example, placing a doormat where the surface connects to a garden. This helps ensure the long-term durability of the finish.
There are no set guidelines for maintaining Quartstone. However, we do recommend reapplying the final top coat (a two-component coating) every x years. For floors, for example, every 4 years, and for (bathroom) walls every 7 years. Cleaning can be done with chlorine-free or bleach-free cleaning products.
We offer a selection of 30 standard colors. We can also supply custom colors, for example, with RAL, NSC, F&B, or Pure & Original coding. We create these based on a (paint) sample, and we always prepare a test sample first.
Quartstone indoors: on any desired surface. From floors and walls to ceilings and stairs. It can be used for both decorative and finishing work in wet areas.
Quartstone outdoors: on patios, walls, and other objects, provided they are based on (concrete) stone. It can also be used on furniture made of sheet material. However, it must be covered and protected from rain and direct sunlight.
Quartstone is epoxy-based and contains quartz grains, while béton ciré is a cement-based mineral product. See also our detailed explanation: How does quartstone differ from béton ciré?
Yes. Lavastone and lavasteen are the same, except that they are in English and Dutch. Lavastone and lavasteen are similar to Quartstone.
Yes. Quartstone is inherently waterproof because it’s not a mineral product, but an epoxy-based plaster. However, we do recommend applying a protective layer to further protect the surface against stains and long-term wear.
Yes. Due to its hardness and density, a Quartstone floor lasts a very long time. With maintenance, such as applying a new coating every few years, this stucco finish can even last a lifetime.
Yes. Quartstone is very suitable for use in wet and damp areas, both on floors and walls, provided the surfaces are properly prepared.
The cost of the lava stone materials, including labor, depends on the number of square meters, the type of surface, the type of space, and the complexity of the project. Consider, for example, the number of corners. Based on accurate drawings and a site visit, our specialist will prepare a customized quote.
No. A béton ciré/microcement mortar is thicker than average plaster, so it’s plastered/applied rather than poured. Plastering and applying the plaster creates the characteristic look of a hand-applied floor. Lava stone is a popular alternative to poured floors.
